Rolex 1908 – Key Visual
A Study in Timeless Sophistication
This project is an original interpretation of the iconic Rolex 1908, a model that combines precision, tradition, and innovation. The challenge was to create a Key Visual (KV) that captured the essence of the watch and the brand, blending luxury with a modern approach while preserving the timeless elegance that defines Rolex.
Creative Process Steps:
1. Concept and Planning:
The first step was to understand the core elements of the Rolex identity and the 1908 model, focusing on its sophisticated aesthetic and rich heritage. The central idea was to create an atmosphere that evoked "eternal time," using classic settings that represented tradition and prestige, with a contemporary twist to convey the concept of constant reinvention.

2. Matte Painting and Scene Creation:
The matte painting process was crucial for constructing the scene. I chose a luxurious neoclassical environment, featuring marble details, dark wood, and soft lighting, creating a sense of grandeur and timelessness. The scene was designed to highlight the watch as the central element, while still being immersed in this elegant and imposing universe.

3. Color Palette:
Traditional Rolex colors were incorporated into the scene, with an emphasis on Rolex green, gold, black, and silver. These colors were carefully selected to convey sophistication and luxury, creating a harmonious contrast with the background. The soft lighting, focused on the watch, helped bring these colors to life, creating a refined glow and accentuating the perfection of the product's finishes.

4. Lighting and Atmosphere:
Lighting was one of the most important aspects of this project. I chose a soft, golden light coming from a strategic angle, which not only illuminated the watch precisely but also created delicate shadows and reflections, enhancing the perception of depth and texture. The golden light reinforced the sense of luxury and exclusivity, providing a warm and refined atmosphere.

5. Product Treatment and Cleanup:
To ensure the watch was presented with maximum perfection, product treatment was done using the frequency separation technique, which allowed me to smooth textures and details precisely without losing definition or the watch's features. This resulted in a clean image, highlighting every element of the product and showcasing its exceptional sophistication and quality.
Conclusion:
This original project was a creative exploration of Rolex's visual identity, with a keen focus on the brand's tradition and the constant innovation it represents. Through the meticulous matte painting process, careful color and lighting choices, and product treatment, the goal was to create an image that communicates the essence of the Rolex 1908 – a watch that transcends time and reinvents itself with each generation.
